Lead in a Collaborative Environment
In the role of Purchasing Department Manager, you will lead the purchasing group with a goal of achieving even higher levels of organization, efficiency, communication, MRP (Materials Resource Planning) system utilization, reliability and inventory financial impact control. As a key figure in the company, you will work collaboratively with other members of the management team in a dynamic, growth-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Product Management: in a shared capacity with the Sales Managers, vet products for suitability to meet the needs of the business and the market,
Quality Control: together with other managers, jointly lead in the further development of corporate QC standards and apply them to vendor.
Procurement and Supply Chain: ensure that timely placement of purchase orders, product standards, vendor confirmations, payments, transportation, tracking, importation and the timely delivery of goods in order to achieve the on-time delivery performance needed while keeping product costs at competitive market-cost driven
Inventory Control: lead in determining amounts of inventory to be brought in and storage space allocation, the procurement and the supply chain, and serve as the key manager in charge of inventory carry over and obsolescence
Sourcing and Acquisition: take the lead for the sourcing and acquisition of key fertilizer commodity ingredients used in manufacturing and blending fertilizers, and for their sales as straight commodities to user
Vendor Relationships: manage vendor relationships, along with the CEO and Sales Managers; attend trade shows, know and understanding the industry, its players and their position in it.

This position requires the following qualifications: 
A minimum of 10 years of agribusiness experience (preferably related to fertilizer, crop protection or seed)
A science background from a recognized university or leading agricultural college
A natural ability to effectively lead and manage staff and business processes
An ability to work comfortably in a group setting with other experienced and qualified managers and supervisors

Production Coordinator

TerraLink Horticulture Inc., a successful agricultural crop inputs retailer located in Abbotsford, BC has an immediate opening to fill the position of Purchasing Department Manager.  The ideal candidate will be seeking career advancement to join a senior management team of agri-professionals working in a fast paced, dynamic business environment. 

Production Coordinator position will include working with our manufacturing team, managing the job calendar, maintaining stock levels of blending materials, working with dispatch and our formulations department and other related duties. This candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

The candidate must be computer literate and be familiar with Excel as well as other common software. The candidate is expected to be well versed in mathematics. The duties of the candidate will include but not exclusive to:

  • Creating production cards
  • Updating production cards
  • Stock transfers
  • Communicating production issues to sales desk, dispatch  or supervisor
  • Updating bulk orders
  • Monitor inventory levels (Raw materials, Packaging and reverse distribution)

Customer Service Representative

Seasonal and Full-time positions available
Abbotsford and Delta Locations

TerraLink Horticulture is a major crop supply company with locations in Abbotsford & Delta, BC. We provide producers and other commercial accounts with a wide range of fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, field services, equipment, biological controls, plastics and other crop inputs, throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The Abbotsford and Delta divisions of TerraLink have openings for Customer Service Representatives at their sales desks. There are seasonal and full-time positions available at both locations.

Primary duties of the incumbent will include telephone order-taking, order processing and related duties. This will include work at both the walk-in sales counter and the order processing areas.

A degree or diploma in agriculture or related science, as well as knowledge of grass and forage seed. Or experience in the agricultural industry would also be an asset.

The candidate must be computer literate, have strong Excel skills, Word and other common software, and comfortable with mathematics. Successful candidates will be expected to obtain a BCME Pesticide Dispenser Certificate and a TDG Certificate. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills. 
A willingness to work flexible hours is a must. The incumbent must be willing to learn all aspects of the business and multitask when required.

Secondary language skills an asset.
