Job Description
We need a driver for our new Kelowna location! We are hiring a CLASS 3 driver with clean driving records (driver abstract may be required) for customer deliveries from our Kelowna location to and from our customer base across throughout the Okanagan and other areas of BC’s interior.
Normal duty hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mon-Fri, but can be longer and Saturdays during peak season activity (April-July). This could be a seasonal job or a full-time employment, depending on need. Written & spoken English skills required. After successful completion of probation, employees are eligible to participate in company's health and dental care program. Technical Sales Representative Lower Mainland

Location: British Columbia. Primarily the Lower Mainland with potential for other parts of BC as well.

Focus: Field Horticulture (Fruit and Vegetables) Crop Management

TerraLink requires a mature technical sales representative who desires to work in the field horticulture markets specializing in fruit and vegetable, to manage an existing sales territory with a growth component to it.

Qualifications: This position requires an individual with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or equivalent with a focus on the applicable sciences. A Diploma in Agriculture will be acceptable for the individual with the right combination of knowledge, skills and experience. The successful candidate will preferably have a focus on soil and plant science with a focus on horticultural crop production. A broader knowledge base including general chemistry, biology, botany and microbiology is of interest for this position.

The successful candidate will be interested in conventional and organic uses of crop nutrition to achieve improved results in yield and crop growth, in crop protection using conventional and IPM concepts and helping customers manage their farm soil conservation needs from a sustainability point of view. This includes factors such as:

  • managing soils, plant and water test results and recommendations, ensuring soil nutrient applications meet any criteria including the 4 R’s and do not exceed any limits for nutrient loading,
  • determining soil health and advising in modifications to meet soil health needs,
  • advising on livestock waste uses,
  • operating in an environmentally sustainable environment.

The successful candidate will be relationship oriented with a people first approach to doing business, have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to present competently to peers and the farm community. A personal drive to succeed in a corporate environment along with colleagues as a team player while reaching corporate goals and objectives is a requirement.

Technical Sales Representative Vancouver Island

Position: Technical Sales Representative

Location: Located in British Columbia with a primary focus on Vancouver Island and secondarily on the South Coastal Region if called upon.

Focus: Forage Crop Inputs (dairy and livestock) with additional General Agriculture applications. TerraLInk requires a mature individual primarily for a forage crop customer sales and service. 

Qualifications: This position requires an individual who will qualify to make recommendations to farm customers in British Columbia. A Diploma in Agriculture with a Certified Crop Advisor designation may be acceptable for the individual with the right combination of knowledge, skills and experience provided the individual qualifies for the Technical Agrologist designation of the BC Institute of Agrologists. A Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or an equivalent science qualifies to become a Professional Agrologist which is the preferred level as making recommendations for crop production decision making will be required.

This position ideally requires an individual with general education focused on plant and soil science including studies in soil fertility, soil management, agronomy, botany and forage production. A microbiology component will be an additional asset. Understanding of factors affecting soil and plant health for crop and livestock management, dealing with livestock waste, the fate of nutrients in the environment and general crops and soil husbandry will be an asset.

The successful candidate will have a personal interest in developing relationships with farm customers, communicating one’s agronomic knowledge for the improvement of their crop production and supporting the farm community by being an industry player are important components that make a candidate ideal.

Additionally, the best candidate will be a natural leader, self starter, have good written verbal, computer and communication skills, and be able to present competently to peers and the farm community. Your role

You will primarily work from home, providing customer service relating to company warehousing and distribution facilities in Airdrie, Alberta, but travel and sales rips within the sales region will be required. Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide information and guidance to retailers and large broadacre farms on crop nutrition products including seed, fertilizer and crop protection products.
  • Build relationships and manage a territory of clients promoting Terra link as a supplier of choice.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and continually educate yourself in agronomy and product knowledge to strengthen sales leads and customer relationships. 

Qualifications: 

  • Post-secondary education in agronomy, soil science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a sales position.
  • CCA designation or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work independently and is a self-starter.
  • Proven ability to grow a sales territory.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to retail and efficiency.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Ability to navigate an ERP system.

- Commercial Vehicle maintenance.

- General Shop skills such as welding and fabricating an asset.

- Farm Fieldwork experience is an asset.

Technical Inside Sales Representative - Abbotsford, BC

TerraLink Horticulture is a major crop supply company with locations in Abbotsford & Delta, BC. We provide producers and other commercial accounts with a wide range of fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, field services, equipment, biological controls, plastics, and other crop inputs, throughout the Pacific Northwest. 

The Abbotsford division of TerraLink have an opening for a Technical Inside Sales Representative at their inside sales desk. 

Primary duties of the incumbent will be Technical Advisory as well as telephone order-taking, order processing and related duties. This will include work at both the walk-in sales counter and the order processing areas. 

A degree or diploma in agriculture or related science, as well as knowledge of grass and forage seed. Or experience in the agricultural industry would also be an asset. 

The candidate must be computer literate, have strong Excel skills, Word, and other common software, and comfortable with mathematics. Successful candidates will be expected to obtain a BCME Pesticide Dispenser Certificate and a TDG Certificate. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills. 
A willingness to work flexible hours is a must. The incumbent must be willing to learn all aspects of the business and multi-task when required.
